Analyst, operations, builder.
I’m Heath Ponder, an operations and data analyst based in El Dorado, Arkansas. I spent nine years at Whole Foods Market, in store leadership and at corporate headquarters in Austin, where I was one of the four-person team that ran the company’s vendor pricebook: item and cost data for roughly 3,500 suppliers across nine regions. Most recently I was a network planning analyst at Murphy USA, assessing new sites, acquisitions, rebuilds and remodels across a 1,700+ store network.
I’m good at finding where the numbers stop matching and fixing the cause at the source. At Whole Foods I resolved about 30 purchase-order-to-invoice discrepancies a week by tracing each one back to the item or cost data behind it. When the other two specialists left within months of my start, I ran all nine regions for about eight weeks with my team lead covering overflow, and the checklists I wrote became the new-hire training.
I build tools that save the next person time. At Murphy USA I proposed and built a Power BI change-in-performance tool that became the team’s standard on each quarterly data release, and an Excel tool that produced every state’s quarterly packet with one click. Since March 2026 I’ve run Wymzy Industries, building websites and a client portal for small businesses in React and Next.js.
I’m looking for a full-time role in analysis or operations, where data, reporting and process work meet.
